Toy sodier awards (1 Viewer)

Alright I,ll play but I,m not 100% sure on my choices yet?? But off the top of my head and I,m sure I,m forgetting some great sets???

AND the award for.....

Best Ancient Set- Conte Spartans, just because they are so innovative!

Best Medieval Set-Marx Vikings are great but so are the Conte medieval sets

Best Early Musket Set- Those new Barzo rev war sets are real nice looking but there are a lot of great sets to choose from in this era and I,m sure I could make a few more great choices also???

Best Napoleonic Set- Again another tough one??? Hat released some great sets, French Greatcoats, Prussians, Bavarians and the french lights and the Black cat Russians and Timpo Highlanders are great also!

Best Colonial Set-??? I,ll go with the old Marx FFL set just because it was special to me as a kid, I only had a few my Dad saved from his childhood for me and I loved them but was never able to find more.

Best Civil war- I,ll go with the Conte sets on these Although I always loved my Marx set as a kid.

Best WW1 Set- Not much out there??? So I guess I,d have to say A.I.P.

Best WW2 Set- Conte G.I. sets, so many great well sculpted poses, one of the best plastic sets ever made!

Best modern Set- No clue??? not many and none really Impress me. Maybe the Mars Afgan set.

Best all time Set- Marx civil war playset!

Best Individual Pose-The Rambo looking Conte WWII G.I. with the machine gun and the cigar in his mouth.

Most Improved Manufacturer- Had Hat,s last few Napoleonic not shrunk in size and gotten worst with the sculpting on the last couple of sets they would have gotten this vote.

Most Disappointing Set- Hat Russian Napoleonic set!

Worst Set (The Golden Raspberry Award)There are a few runners up here I could think of but the one that comes to mind as worst would be the Dulcop napoleonic cavalry set!! What a joke that sculpting is! They look like bad cartoon figures.

Best Box Art- I always liked the Italeri Napoleonic box art

Best Shop- Hobby bunker because its closest to me and the only shop I,ve been in but the place is huge and its loaded!!!

Best On-line Shop

Most Anticipated Future Set- I,d like to see some well sculpted Russian Cuirassiers.

Best contribution

Larso

As an outsider I always notice how regularly Conte gets a mention in any discussion of this sort. No-one seems to ever find fault with the work, which in this hobby is quite an achievement.

Where are you Richard Conte - your faithful await!
