My package containing $365.00 worth of goods got delivered by the delivery driver to someone elses door step.My address is #133 and the box got left at #113.When asking the driver why he did such a thing his reply was....It was dark outside ! Luckily the recipient of the mis-delivered box after 3 days finally decided to hand the box over to myself. This was definately a blood pressure raising event to say the least. Luckily it all worked out ! :)

As soon as I knew I would have been around that minute and collected my delivery. I would not have waited three minutes let alone three days for the other person to decide when they would sort out the mistake. Are your deliveries not signed for?? If someone brings a package thats not for me I would not even accept it let alone sign for it!!!!!

The same thing happened to me once when I lived in NYC. The package was delivered to the wrong address up the block, and was missing for a week. It was a large group of irreplaceable early glossy K&C, so I actually went door to door checking with the doormen at each building. The doorman at the building where it was mis-delivered had just put it in the area where he stored packages delivered to his building and forgot about it, so when I asked, he saw my name in his log with a question mark next to it, pulled it out and gave it to me. Alls well that ends well!:wink2:

these are the companes the anti post office types want to take over everyting

I'd be more upset at the neighbour than the driver. Mistakes happen but why did the neighbour hang on to it for 3 days?

I had a package recently - bought online - so Had no say in the delivery company. After a few days of waiting - decided to look at tracking - and found out my package had been despatched from London, and was now in Paris. Next day it got to Bordeaux - and the following day it got to Biarritz. And there it stayed for over a week. Despite the sender and myself calling various telephone numbers ( and usually getting passed around until we got back to the first person we spoke to) - we had no joy. After another 8 days - we were told that the driver was trying to deliver it to the wrong address - and had been leaving notes in their letter box - as no-one was home. We had left one person at home all through this time.

We were promised delivery - wait for it - not NEXT day - but in two days time- the company don't deliver here EVERY day!!! So - waited in on the day specified - NO SHOW. The idiot driver had left another note though - but at the WRONG address again.

My son-in-law wrote an e-mail to the CEO of the company - and we got the package two days later - using a different driver AFTER WE GAVE SAT NAV CO-ORDINATES.

The new driver arrived in an unmarked white van - and said we were hard to find!! My obsevation was that the Bureaux de Post managed to find us every day!

I agree that the increase in numbers of private delivery firms - means that they are employing many people that just don't know how to find addresses - or have enough savvy to read the address and work out that the last line of digits on the front of the package - was our telephone number!

I have resolved to put our telephone number and Sat-Nav co-ordinates on all packages NOT coming by post in the future! And then cross my fingers and hope! By the way, the delivery company refunded our delivery charge, after I promised not to reveal their name - which included the word "EXPRESS"! johnnybach.

No Chance for that. It was a FED-EX delivery and I was home the whole time while the tracking # info said "Delivered"........Yes to the wrong person ! Then the next thing is the head office here where I live stated that #113 had my box....I live in #133 and the people who had my box said it was delivered to them on 26 August.
Totally strange when the tracking info and the sender confirmed that the box did not even go out till the 26th ! I think someone was contemplating keeping the box but realised that eventually I would find out so they gave it up to me the rightfull owner. I now refuse to buy anything if it must be sent via FED-Ex !!! {sm3}
