Hello Bill,
It's my understanding that Trafalgar Models (then 122 Lazy Hill Road, Aldridge, Walsall, West Midlands WS9 8RR) produced a range of toy soldiers in the late 1970's under the Victoria label. Predominately the British Army at the turn of the century (regular and yeomanry regiments). That's all the information I have, hope it is of some assistance.

If I remember correctly, it was designed by Ray Lamb for Hinchliffe. I used to know who painted that one-maybe Philip Stearns?

Prost!

This is from the Hinchliffe handbook, looks like an advert, not a listing in the catalogue.

The romans you speak about with same kind of bases are Sovereign figurines 75mm by Lasset/Tassel

The Taisho is well a 150mm sculpted by Ray Lamb ( The UK one, not the USA one )
And as it was the only one of this size at the time of publication, it looks liks an advert ad is in the catalogue, free at your disposal ( among more than 200 others ) here ( the 3rd one )

https://www.mirofsoft.com/nostalgia-old-catalog-pdf/

By the way, at the same place you will find the above mentioned Sovereign catalogus

Best

Thanks for those responses!! what a resource you have!
