here is a few snaps of a friends toy soldier museum he used to have,i took these when attending a acots convention in 2004 ,i already tried to post these with all 28 photos but the post didn't appear in forum so i will just try with a few photos,collection is mostly vintage plastic

What happened to the museum?

he sold off all the other toys matchbox,trains etc,kept all his soldiers and just set up in a smaller lay out in a couple of rooms in his current house.

Very nice, there is a few bobs worth in that collection.

yea it was breathtaking ,he owns over twenty thousand figs.the next day of that convention they (which i didnt get photos of #####head) wargamed with repainted vintage britains herald and eyes right acw.it was a awsome sight

Thanks for posting these terrific photographs! Your friend certainly has an awesome collection. I can not begin to imagine what 20,000 figures might look like when they are all on display. What a sight that would be! :cool:

Great plastics! I sometimes wonder if I still had my plastic soldiers from my childhood, that I wouldn't have the need to collect my current metal collection. I had some great Marx and Airfix stuff. Playing with plastic toy soldiers as a child is way better than admiring a well sculpted metal soldier as an adult today.

Now that's what you call a collection and what a way to display it! That is a really neat idea to have an access area on the War games table disguised as a river/lake. Those Napoleonic’s are some really nicely painted figures.

Jeff i did notice that also it just looks like a lake and you get to pop up move troops around :cool:.
I also like the train set looks like 1/32 scale ?
