Hi everyone im off to florida again for christmas & was wondering if anyone knew of any toy soldier shops there? I only know of Troops of Time in jacksonville & that is a bit of a drive from were im staying was kinda hoping there might be one a bit lower down the state?

Cheers Craig.

Craig,

According to the K&C dealer list https://www.kingandcountry.com/our_dealers.jsp#United States

Also the Britains website has a Retail Locator function which shows 8 dealers in Florida.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff i was having problems getting the king & country website up so couldn't check the dealer list, might try poping to sagers soldier's & miniatures while im away it is alot closer then jacksonville for me :D but it does say only by appointment so we will see

Cheers Craig.

craig,

You must make the time to go visit Tim Tyler at Troops of Time. His shop is wonderful. It is well stocked with beautifully displayed soldiers and vehicles(mostly K&C) and has some fabulous unifroms, artifacts and military art.And you will walk in as a customer and leave as a friend.Southern Hospitality at its best.

Hi Guys,

I’m one of the few Floridians that actually live in Florida – Everyone else here is from New York or New Jersey.

Rob Denny’s is not a place I’d recommend. The Cheesecake Factory is good as is Brio Tuscan Grille and McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant. For a quick sandwich I like Panera Bread. They are all at the Mall At Millenia, close to the attractions.

I live 25 miles North of Orlando, about 2-1/2 hour drive to Troops of Time. I’ve spoke to Tim a couple of times, but have never been to his shop knowing I would buy something – Paying sales tax is bad karma so I buy out-of-state.

I do recommend the skin of toad wrap at Hogwarts.

I see you have been before, but no harm in reminding you of this - In Florida we license for a concealed weapon. This means that you never know who has a hand gun on them or in their car - So, on the roads try not to do anything to irritate other drivers. If someone should pull in front of you, just pretend it did not happen (as best you can).

Hey Donnie thanks for the advice about the cars & driving about florida my dad is pretty good at ignoring other idiotic drivers it is always better to leave them to it & not cause yourself any problems he always says :) he is pretty good at getting about florida in the car we have ventured up as far as st augustine a few times & he is considering going up to jacksonville this year so hopefully a visit to troops of time will be on the cards :D

thanks Craig.

You’re welcome Craig.

That would be great if you can visit with Tim.

I’m going to just have to make some time for a trip there myself, maybe take my wife to St Augustine on the way up. She likes the Columbia Restaurant and you may know there is one within a stones throw of Fort Matanzas. There is also a Columbia in Celebration and worth going to – best Cuban food North of Havana. Celebration is a kind of “stepford wives” Disney planned community – A dying potted plant left on your front porch for more than 24 hours will warrant you a warning notice. Check it out if you have time and have not been there, some very interesting homes and 3 or 4 nice restaurants in their little downtown – built to look like 1950’s. It is in Kissimmee at Interstate-4 and US 192.

Hi Donnie,

Thanks very much for the advice much appreciated. We always enjoyed our Breakfasts at Dennys but if you can recommend another breakfast spot that would also be much appreciated.Love the Mall at Millenia by the way,had a nice Pizza there.

I know what you mean Rob i love all the fast thrill rides & the rollercoasters but have a sweet spot for the tamer rides like pirates of the caribbean :D :D :D i cant wait to try some hogwarts food ether should be an experience all on its own lol

Craig, from the pics on the website it does look a lot of fun,its what i love about the theme parks, you just walk in and lose yourself in a different world forgetting any pre holiday stress.Great fun!:)

Rob

My apologies Rob, yes Denny’s is a great meeting place for breakfast.

Other than a family owned out-of-way place we sometimes will meet at one of the larger hotels for breakfast as they always have an overwhelming assortment of good eats in their breakfast buffets.

Donnie

No apologies needed Donnie,i am very grateful for your advice:).
