There are two fantastic toy soldier shops in the Poconos: Stockade Miniatures (Mike Rosso - he's a K&C dealer, you can get all the info on the K&C website) and The Toy Soldier Museum (Jim Hillestad). Mike has a great shop in a very quaint little "Main Street U.S.A." type Victorian Era town. He carries K&C, Soldiers of the World, and has a lot of great old odds and ends.
Jim Hillestad's Toy Soldier Museum is an entire two story house loaded with about 20,000 assorted figures, vehicles, boats and dioramas, intermixed with some unbelievable real military memorebelia (he has a connection in the British Guards regiments). Google "Toy Soldier Museum" or check Bill Hocker's website for a link to Jim's website. You have to make an appointment, and he won't always sell you what you want to buy, but it is well worth the trip. His collection dwarfs mine, and I modelled my little museum after his.
Stroudsburg and Cresco are just a little north of here.
If you can, you might want to swing down here to the Lehigh Valley and visit Ron Ruddell's London Bridge Collectors' Toys in Emmaus. Ron is a real gent, and has been in the business for ages. His website is here:
Ron is a Britains dealer, and is also licensed to sell replacement parts for classic Britains. It is very much worth the trip to visit his store and meet him.
