There isn't anything in Washington D.C. but in Florida there are three king & country shops.

I know there's a toy soldeir shop in Charleston, S.C. My mother in law bought me a nice Civil War Chess Set during a visit there about 2 years ago. And of course there are some great Toy Soldier Shops in Florida. Tim Tyler's Shop, Troops of Time, Bill Sager's Shop, Sager's Toy Soldiers, and Grand Armee are all great places to stop in. I don't know the owners of Grand Armee, but Tim Tyler and Bill Sager are about as good as it gets.

I was in the Charleston area a few months back & the numbers listed for the downtown shop (water-front) area were AWOL-in short, the phone numbers listed on their website as well as the K&C site were INOP. Perhaps, things have changed? Have fun on the quest!

Ive been to neil rhodes shop in dc. Id recommend it to anyone in the area. He specializes in old britains flats and doing custom painting for customers.:D

I used to go to a soldier shop in New Orleans called Le Petit Soldier Shop

does anyone know if it still exists? It had some lovely figures all done by local

artists.

I believe it was run by a fellow named dave who was quite excentric. I used

to visit his shop several times a year and was thrown out more then once.

I would be right in the middle of a large purchase and something would set

him off......either to many people entering the shop, or someone walking in

with a drink and he would bellow "Alright everyone Out"

It was quite shocking the first time it happened. He would throw everyone

out and flip the closed sign up on the door.

The first time it happened I went back several days later and picked up my

figures just like nothing had happened.

I was just wondering if it still existed?

There are some great shops in Madrid. Also, if you are in Moscow the large department store across from Red Square (GUM) carries the top of line Vityaz figures - including many WWII personalities.

Combat:

How did you find the shopping, and the people of Russia? Is it like other cities in the world such as London and Paris? Or is it less tourist oriented?

London Bridge Collector's Toys, right here in Emmaus, PA. Highly recommended, carries Britains, also authorized to sell replacement parts for Britains (thus, not unlicensed copies), also has other lines, and some great militaria on display. Also carries some model railroad items. Ron Ruddell is a real gent.

And right around the corner is Traub's, which has really good hot dogs.

Prost!
