Does anyone know when and if there are any Toy Soldier shows in Califonia? Also if anybody has any good Limited Edition older items... I'm in a new early gullible stage of obsession and you might see me paying more for one of those items you had no idea would fetch quite so much...so I will be hanging out on Ebay like a prowler in the night, or day waiting to outbid anyone who gets in my way. I was going to put LOL...but it's not funny...Im serious!

Old Toy Soldiers of San Diego is sponsoring it. Oh by the way, room trading usually begins Thursday night with some dealers before the show and really gets going by Friday/ Saturday at the same hotel hosting the show below.

I do appreciate the information...this will be my first show so I'm excited. What do you mean trading gets going??? Selling soldiers? Trading them? How's this work? What do most of you bring to such a show...other than money? A bag? A cart? Wheelbarrow? Can someone explain how the event plays out?

"Room trading" is a feature primarily of the Chicago toy soldier show, and the West Coaster, and it means that dealers set up in their hotel rooms to display their wares and offer them to buyers, before the actual show dates.

It is very dependent on the respective municipalities where these shows are held, and the management of the respective hotels, so I'll reiterate, it's a nice feature of those shows, but not a feature of every toy soldier show. Our show, the MFCA show, for example, does not feature room trading, because the township where the show is held requires an itinerant merchant license fee from any vendor at the show, and the Valley Forge Convention Center also forbids it.

Prost!

There is also room trading at the Indy show, a smaller show for sure, but a nice show.

Bring a wheelbarrow full of money and an empty van.

That would be a great place to start IMO.
