Toy Soldier Traveler London March 2008 (1 Viewer)

MCKENNA:

Make sure you go & visit the RAF Museum at Hendon (easy tube ride and short walk from central London) but most importantly DUXFORD!!! There is also an land warfare/armour museum there. You can take a train from London out to Cambridge & then a shuttle to the Museum. Trust me-you will love it. Sara KGB could also explore the city while you are doing the Museum fly-by! Great SITREP by the way.

Glad you to see you guys enjoyed the diary. I'm not sure about writing professionally though. I really don't think my writing is on that level. As far as the Tetley's beer goes, my water-downed beer American palate didn't take to it too well. I've been told that Tetley is actually a more "traditional" English beer. Either way, it was not for me.

The next stop in the tour will be San Antonio which should be a lot of fun as I have never been there before. I will be returning to England this June with Sara KGB in tow. We will for sure be hitting up the Imperial War Museum as I've heard it's a must see.

Would you be interested in a trip to The Tank Museum at Bovington?

McKenna,
Great tale of adventure and romance with a shower stall.
Personally I thought the Crimean series because of the lousy dollar was too expensive to buy and have shipped, but man! you found an excellent way to save the cost of shipping! :)

Jeff:

Bovington might be a bit far, how many miles is it from Bovington to London? From on line the tank museum looks pretty sweet.

Ray:

In my opinion the Crimean range contains the best sculpted items to date by K&C. The detail on these pieces is just unreal. I know they're expensive but in terms of quality you're getting beyond your dollars worth. K&C UK usually brings sets to the Chicago show and if you attend you can avoid shipping charges that way. Also, if you purchase more than $200 worth of product they ship for free.

The Tank Museum is a trip of a lifetime so if you're interested, I'll take you down there.

Chris,

I love your reports. Did you ever think of writing. You've got the talent. It's like reading Rick Steves, the travel guy. Guess you didn't make it to the Imperial War Museum. Too bad because it's awesome.

Where you headed next? San Antone?

See you in Chicago.

All right Brad, I've taken you up on your idea. I've responded to the adverstisement in the Toy Soldier Collector magazine requesting writers. My diary pieces have been submitted to the editor there. I highly doubt anything will come of it but if something does I'll let you know.

MC ... and we are rooting for you. Hope to read more of your toys/travel pieces.
