Hello Napoleon!

I own and maintain the realtoysoldiers.com web site which is dedicated to mostly Britains pre-1966 lead figures.

I found ToySoldierWiki.com via this forum. Having gone to your site I noticed that someone has copied(but not recently because I have been doing some updating so some info has changed)my Britains Ltd. Set List(1893-1961)onto your site under the Britains sections.

I spent literally weeks of work on the Britains set list, and continue to do periodic updates, corrections. So you can imagine how I felt when I found that someone had completely copied my list without contacting me, or without citing, crediting me for my work.

I find this esp. ironic because when I attempted to place a link to my web site(the most informative web site on pre-1966 Britains figures on the world wide web)in the Wm. Britains and the Toy Soldier entries on Wikipedia my link was deleted because of “conflict of interest”.

Would appreciate it if you would contact me so we can discuss the above.

Regards,

Geoff

Hi Geoffrey,

We received that list in the form of an excel file from a man who has written several books about Britains. We can't confirm that the list was copied from your site because when we look at cached pages of your site from the past using thewaybackmachine, we do not see lists that look the same (your list has much more detail). However, since the author who gave us the list is on holiday and can't be reached, we have deleted all of the list except for three entries that had information in them. Please give us a link to or a copy of a list that our list was supposedly copied from.

The Toy soldier Wiki does not allow ANY external links. This is to prevent spam and to keep the site focused on informing the visitors and not focused on making money from them.

Toy Soldier Wiki always asks permission before using other people's property. If anyone has images or information to share for free with the Toy Soldier community then we urge you to come to toysoldierwiki.com and help us build the greatest free resource for collectors of toy soldiers and miniatures.

Don't worry if you have trouble with the interface. You can email me at napoleon@toysoldierwiki.com . I can help add images, text, convert files, etc...

ToySoldierWiki By collectors, For Collectors. Huzzah!

Respectfully,
Napoleon

A Happy Ending and a New Beginning

I am very pleased to post that Roan has given Toy Soldier Wiki permission to use his list. I promise that he will be properly credited and his site has been added to our Friends of Toy Soldier Wiki page.

Thank You ROAN,
Napoleon
