Over on one of the other threads I mentioned that in the past I painted my own castings and it has been suggested that I post some photos of my efforts.
So here are a couple of shots of a Sudan War period Royal Artillery Screw Gun set, these are made by Tradition.
If there is enough interest I may take up the paintbrush again and paint a set up from scratch showing how I do it!

Jeff,

It would be a resounding 'yes please' from me. Those are superb.

Simon

That makes two of us. I would love to see how it's done.

Wonderful talent.....I miss my young eyesight ,but even in my best days, I could not duplicate your efforts. I ,too, would love to see a from scratch gloss paint job. Who knows, maybe I could get the hang of using those magnifying lights..............Michael

Those lights take some getting used to. Just now starting to benefit a little from it

Enjoyed the photos Jeff and looking forward to seeing more in the near future...The Lt.

Great paint job. Would love to see more photos. I love painting the Tradition figures. Here's some Tradition Swis Napoleonics I recently painted.

Thanks Dave. Tradition are very well sculpted and that makes them easier to paint. I got these from Tradition USA which is in Minnesota. They don't have a website. I can send you their address if you're interested. You can also get them from Dutkins Collectibles in New Jersey.

Dave these are also firgures from kits by Tradition which I got from Dutkins Collectibles along with a group of Zulus....The Lt.

Thanks for the interest, I will now obtain some castings and start from the beginning with photographs and see what happens

There are many talented painters on the forum and its nice to see other peoples figures.

Here are some more of the sets I painted a few years ago.

As you may have noticed, I had this thing about Elephants

Regards

Jeff

These aren't painted in gloss, I tried a different approach and used matt paint. NOT my best efforts :( ..........I should have used gloss.
