Advancing tanks from the German 35th Panzer Regiment, 4th Panzer Division, come to a momentary halt on a rural road during the Invasion of Poland in September, 1939.

I wanted to do a Polish Campaign diorama featuring John’s recent Panzer II Ausf. A (GA-25P), Panzer I Ausf. B (GA-11B) and Kleiner Panzerbefehlswagen (GA-16P) models all in one scene, and this is the current result. It’s still kind of a work in progress, so I may make further modifications at some point. It is a busy little scene, inspired by a historical photo of a similar panzer traffic jam during the Invasion of Poland.

The tankers are all the old JJD Panzer I crew figures while the tank riders and standing infantry are War Park figures. The base and bushes are JG Miniatures and Sheffield Miniatures products.

Great Job, your custom groundwork is a vastly great improvement to premade terrain mats. The realism is greatly enhanced by the terrain you are providing the figures. thanks for the photos and inspiration.

Fantastic!

Thank you both 😃

Running-Buddy, the terrain mat isn’t really a custom… It’s a section of old JG Miniatures dirt road/medium grass terrain matting. I wish I’d gotten more of it when available several years ago. The bushes are Sheffield Miniatures products.

As always Tman fantastic 👏 another winner. Paul

Great setup and use of figures!
Thank you, Seneca! While the War Park figures are technically for the Battle of Kursk period, the uniforms are close enough to the early war style to work perfectly in this setting. I’m really glad John made the early war tanker figures with the berets!

And you're glad you got the guy with the map - he is really cool!

It’s funny but those early war German panzer crew figures were among some of the very first 1/30 scale toy soldier figures I ever got back in 2018. They were older figures then and certainly are now and it’s crazy many retailer still have them.
