Errr I don't think so and those are pretty cool also but I was talking about the ground cover or loose material covering the figure bases; unless it is beans, corn mash, flour and millet?Are these what u are talking about Aurele?

I'm sorry...that post was for Aurele (aka...Oldtank) about something else.
Sorry for the confusion.
The groundwork is mostly Natural Sheet Moss....you can buy it at Hobby Lobby or Michael's Crafts or almost Dollar Store very cheap.
That bag in the photo was $4.99....but you can get it at a Dollar Store much cheaper.
It is a good ground work in itself...several different shades mixed together, clumpy, in small sheets and has twigs mixed in it.
I put mine in a small coffee grinder and pulverize it on the puree setting (expresso).
When I'm finished I re-bag for my next project.
Over several picture shoots.....I end up with debris from various tree and bush droppings mixed into it...it just adds more character to the mix.
I have been meaning to try some blends to it....I like saw dust....it has that nice woodsy effect of bark.
You can also pulverize moss, lichen or even Spanish Moss into the mix....and it looks real natural.
The Sheet moss and Spanish moss is the product that people put in their indoor potted plants over the dirt for decoration....kind of an indoor mulch for decoration.
You will find these products at Walmart...etc.... in the silk flower departments.....VERY CHEAP.

That was a great scene....
the slow talking, patient, un-hasty trees finally got aggravated enough to go to war....
The Last March of the Trees......great scene!
It was a poor choice of mine for a thread title....
especially on a site named Treefrog....
my thread just appears more confusing.

I can change it for you to "John Jenkins Skirmish Among the Trees" if you like, but I think it's fine and more fun the way it is.
Also reminds me of Rush's "There is unrest in the forest, there is trouble with the trees, for the maples want more sunlight and the oaks ignore their pleas..." (Great song!)
Possibly even one of several Harry Potter scenes involving the Whomping Willow too.
Apparently working at TREEfrog Treasures has given me trees on the brain.
Great dio by the way, thanks for posting the pics and helping people recreate your forest litter. I hadn't thought about chopping up floral moss. My son was doing a deciduous forest shoebox diorama last year for school and we had tried the moss as is out of the bag, but unchopped it was way out of scale. Thanks for the tip!
