Shannon:

I noticed on another thread that you plan to add more plastics.
I hope you will consider adding Armies in Plastic, A Call to Arms, and Conte which are very useful for all the 19th C Colonial painters/collectors.:)

Thanks,

Randy

Perhaps some 54mm Napoleonics? shameless plug.
February?proto1.jpgmaybe a little sooner.

If I break even on these I'll do another set of 8 .Or maybe a cannon set? Or maybe some French? I can't make up my mind! Better just hope on breakin even for starts!
Yes add plastics. If you have enough customers why not? .I know most of the die hard factory painted collectors wont bite, but no doubt theres more fanatics like me out there that collect both. Maybe some guys riding the fence about painting will buy the far less expensive plastics for starting out with the brushes.More painting demos like the ones you did at OTSN?
I promise to volunteer next time! Not going alone again, I'll have more time.

Conte is an obvious choice for plastics .TSSD as well.
Decide what eras you want to cover first. LMK if I can help, very familiar with who makes what.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. At the moment we're just planning to add a few plastics in the showroom to offer a greater price range of products for any collector young or old to be able to find something that fits their budget.
Scott, didn't know you were planning to branch out into plastics too--You are a busy man! Thanks for the offer to do a demo in Chicago next time. We're always looking for more people and topics.

As far as adding even more plastics, we have picked up Barzo Robin Hood figures and some TSSD and Steve Weston lines as well for now. If we get an enthusiastic response we'll probably add more lines.

Thanks again for the feedback,

These are looking Great!

Scotty, they look FABULOUS!!!!!!!! Man, are they nice. Multiple parts, great detailing, no blocking that I can see, wonderful pose selection, fully rounded 3D. Ohmygosh.

Congratulations.

Dick

I didn't knew you did plastic casting. Isn't that incredible expensive with metal toolings and such?

Thanks for the kind words folks. The figures were straight from my metal castings. Hope to see them by February.Should{ are supposed to} come into Portlands terminal 6 container yard{ one of my old workplaces along the Columbia River} on an Evergreen line vessal.
I saw no way to make plastics here. The machinery is available, but mostly shippied overseas or very expensive.Too expensive. I like doing things my self but this project was too much $$$$.
Yes, it was VERY expensive to have the molds cut.Actual production is reasonable.
How would these badboys look in plastic?1815frenchgren3.jpg

Better not tease. I have not a clue what{ if anything} to do in plastics.
I know ACW or WW2 are the way to go. But theres holes in other periods I like!

Scott: Thanks for the plastic pictures. You sure have been busy with your new work area and now getting such neat Napoleonic plastics made. Hope all is well. Your buddy: John

Harold,
Those are fabulour Russians, I have seen your work on another forum in addition to here and am tickled to see that you've actually gotten these fellows to the point of production. I swore I would stick to 1/72 from here on out for the Napo era but I think you've changed my mind. As for the French you show, I say by all means do a set of French opponents. They look stunning and the paint jobs really set them off. Wonderful figures and I think you have some great potential with the quality of the sculpts (is that Aaron from Alpha Miniatures in NZ doing the sculpting?) I can imagine you would be able to fill in many gaps outside the ACW and WWII (even if they are two of my main collecting areas). Cheers for taking the plunge, will you be announcing your figures as being available here? Best regards,
Mike :)

I,m also looking forward to these limey colored plastic ruskies:cool: I have a bunch of these guys in metal castings and they are great!!!

Buy them buy the pound so Fubar can get his money back for the plastic molds so he can start making even more and afford to get more sculpts made.

Harold any news on a time line as to when you,ll have some available for sale? I,m looking forward to putting a few of these guys under the knife.
The metal castings are a bit tough to chop up.

Just so I have this straight. The french figures pictured above as well as the Russian figures are going to be available in Plastic? Any preproduction plastic figures available for pictures?

Vamp, Harold had told me he was going to see how this first batch of russians goes sales wise before he ventures any futher into plastics. I know these plastic molds are VERY!!! expensive to have made and you need to sell a lot of figures to recoupe your money back.
I don,t know what he has planed as far as more plastics. I do know he hopes to do more in the future it sounds like to me but you,ll have to wait and see what he has to say about the whole plastic thing hes doing I can,t speak for him, I can just hope.
I know I,ll be buying a bunch of these and I hope others do also because I,m looking forward to seeing him do more because I,m sure he,ll do what ever he does right and I,m sure they,ll look great just like these first figures.

Nice thing about Russians is that they can be convert to Prussians. The difference between a Russian and a Prussian is that the Russians' P is running down their leg! sorry:eek: Not PC To any Americans of Russian descent it is a joke. Insert Irish jokes here.
