Treefrog Treasures New Building! (2 Viewers)

We have tons of trees in Minnesota, but not in new subdivisions that used to be farmer's fields...

It is a bit bare, isn't it?

Do you not plant new ones (trees) when re-developing?

Interesting the way these buildings go up in a short space of time.

We do - but usually after the buildings are up (so that construction doesn't destroy them). Since we're the first to build out here, we'll be the first to plant out here too!

The building behind us has been around for a while and they recently planted some pine trees along our back property line.

I attended the Grand Opening on February 23! It is a great building and Shannon and Peter are really nice folks.

Welcome to the forum GuruDave!
I see that Shannon and Pete didn't let you leave the premises until you'd signed up to the forum.
Hopefully, you'll find this place informative, enjoyable and just on the odd occasion....er....interestingly challenging.:D

Dave (and the Rochester Gaming Community) will be hosting an intro to wargaming session here at the Frog on March 22, 2008 from 11-2. We've got lots of room upstairs that would be perfect for gaming. Please let him, me or Pete know if you are interested in attending.
Dave made up a nice promotional flyer about it and hopefully one of us can post it in a new thread. More details to come!

I know there are wargamers on this forum and as I have said before I would be happy to make a wargaming category if enough people posted about it and showed interest in having an area to talk wargaming.

Now that Dave has joined the Treefrog forum he'll notice I liked the quote in his email signature so much I added it to my forum signature for a while.
If he wants to use it himself instead maybe I should just change mine to "No fighting. No biting." --the title of a great children's book by one of my favorite kiddie lit author and illustrator teams with an equally great message about getting along with each other when you don't want to. ;)

Regards,

I'm looking forward to March 22! I am planning an Old West game, "Gunfight at the Treefrog Corral" using 54mm miniatures and the "Legends of the Old West" skirmish rules by Games Workshop. The fun should be fast and furious!

I'll post some photos of the minis and board before the event (hopefully).

Thanks again to Shannon for making the space available at the store!

Here is a photo of the game board that I'll be using next Saturday for the game at the Treefrog store. The miniatures are a mix of TSSD painted by me and plastic Brittains. I've based all the miniatures on 1 1/2 inch wooden bases and added some "terrain" so that the bases blend into the board.

The building, fence, cactus, and other terrain items are a mix of repainted toys, scratchbuilt, and items from my collection.
