Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of joining a small recon patrol of the main show brigade for a visit to the totally awesome Imperial War Museum Duxford, world class museum it is and that is said without a hint of bias!:wink2:

The patrol was made up of our leader Mr Clive Gande, Louis, Ed , Howard and his charming wife Jenny and myself. Thanks for a really enjoyable day guys it rounded off the best Toy Soldier show weekend I've ever had:salute::

I was put in charge of finding our way around this huge airfield and its exhibits , this soon proved a costly mistake ^&grin^&grin However after threat of mutiny was avoided and with the aid of the map Louis had we were able to steer generally in the right direction.

Enjoy the museum guys, but someone remember where we parked it!

Louis was very happy to pose in front of his favourite military leaders command tank....

The vehicle museum is always a bit of a surprise isn't it. You walk the length of the airfiled and there it is. The first time I saw it I had been spoilt by the aircraft and just assumed that it would be a bit of a 'tack on' but it is excellent.

Awesome trip and photos! I wish it would have worked out for me, but me and the family will be there in 2 weeks!

Rob,

Can't tell you how much I wish I could be part of this recon patrol and also have joined in this weekend show. Louis knows how frustrated I am, considering I couldn't anticipate my trip and missed all this action for 2 weeks, considering I will be arriving in London on the 22nd...:redface2: Great pictures (I've been drooling on all the pictures posted of the show, drinks, food and Clive's get together...), and I'm happy to see you're all having a great time together!:smile2:

Just saw your post, same case with me, arriving with family on Saturday, the 22nd...:wink2:

Looks like a great time was had by all. The museum looks a real professional job. That dio is absolutely fantastic. One question though, how did you all get Louis to pose in front of Monty's tank? Was he under the influence of some evil potion? Struck blind? Or was he just in a REALLY good mood because of the outstanding company and surroundings?:wink2:^&grin -- Al

Hey Jack, it really is superb in there isn't it. So many Tanks and guns and exhibitions on the Pacific etc. Sure is a walk from one end to another, well it was for Howard as I was bending his ear about the Cricket:wink2:

But as I said to Tom I hope you too have a great stay on this Island of ours and go home with great experiences and happy memories. Maybe you could sneak back another time and join us at a show!:wink2:

Tom, if you are behind the tables and you are approached by a suspicious looking blonde woman with a deep voice and hairy arms, be on your guard, some of the Brit Brigade will do ANYTHING for a bit of discount from Clive:wink2:

Great to hear you will be there in December, look forward to meeting you Tom:smile2:

Al,

They told me that if I posed with the Monty tank, I would get 5 CJB Models and a Heco Tinplate Models WWII Mobile Radar set . . . and even then I said no until they held me down and poured a bottle of Scotch down my throat . . . you should see the photos Clive has of me afterwards, in front of a poster of Monty!{sm3}{sm2}{sm4}
