Thanks to Damian sending me a bunch of WW1 Trophy photos it
rekindled my interest in glossy WW1 offerings [i,m not sure thats a good thing :)] ,
Here is a set I was lucky enough to pick up last week, although I own
very little trophy I have always wanted a Royal artillery gun team so
I was rapt to find this one.

Great set. thanks for posting. I recognize half of the Highlanders marching next to the limber they are WB Premier series, but the one at the back of the line looks different.

Damian , their are 2 figures with bayonets fixed that where released
by Charles Biggs Premier line [before they where sold through britains]

Biggs had 2 sets of 4 highlanders in his catalogue and when they released
them through britains they combined one and a half sets and released
them as the marching Blackwatch [unfortunatly leaving out the guys with
fixed bayonets].
cheers Rob

Rob,
That is a fab set you got there. Nothing like having arty hooked up to 8 horses! They and the Watch look beautiful.. as well as those other little guys one shelf down:rolleyes: You'v got some keepers
Mike

You need some wounded and maimed heading in the other direction. Like that scene in Charley's War. The fresh troops heading up to the front and the butchered and maimed the blind and insane going back to blighty.

Damian,
Rough day at work?:D

Did Len make those that you suggest?
Mike

Rob & Damian,
Rob, this is as good a place as any thread for WW1 Trophy of Wales...
Damian, I liked this "In the trenches" picture, I hope you don't mind me putting it here...Who said Gloss is "Toyish"?

If I wanted that kind of realism I would have stayed in the Army.

Hi guys, i was monkeying around with the new camara and i put some pictures in my album. The wwi trophy pictures came out the best. I am just learning how to post, i will try to improve.

Mike , that looks excellent .I think WW1 figures work realy well in gloss
I guess the problem for me now is finding some glossy WW1 stuff that is still being produced that is compatible .
We used to have soldiers of the world being made here that would have
been a very good fit [but since regal are no longer I,m not sure if this range
has dissapeared]
cheers Rob

Actually the pictures are under toy soldiers not trophy wwi

You have some great shots their , are they Anzacs lining up against the
turkish cavalry [ your thin red line display looks fantastic ]

yes they are, and i just purchased a set of advancing anzac to reinforce them. the sets actually look better when you see them in person. i love the anzac sets and the kc 8th army set of anzacs is one of my favorites in the kc line. i am still searching for the turking officer and bugler in the trophy line as well asmore anzacs. i shouldn't have let mike attrophy of texas talk me out of buying the whole line. i guess we all have are regrets at what we could have bought.

Mike talked you out of buying a whole line? I find that a bit hard to believe.:D:D
We all have regrets about what we should have bought.

damien, actually i was inquiring to buy the mounted turks and we got into a dicussian about what would be worth more down the line, how many were probably made, where the line was going and the end result is that i filled some holes in my napoleonic line as he told me whats left is what is left. so i put the turks on the backburner and when i inquired the next time there were only three left. i bought those and then bought 3 more on ebay. thus i am still 2 figures short of the whole set. a quest that my take a long time unless somebody magically appears with a bugler and officer they do not want.

I have been in a very similar position myself. I also had my eyes on those ANZACS and Turks but never got round to getting them. They are lovely figures.

Its been a slow process , but I have managed to add another piece
to my Gloss WW1 collection via ebay , Trophys Dennis lorry with searchlight.
I,m rapt to have picked this up and its an instant favourite.
