Trophy WW1 (1 Viewer)

talk to tom dubel. I deferred to him on this one, and decided not to bid.
i understand as its hard to add something to your collection that you know is not totally legit. I passed on some
revolutinary trophy sets that had funky paint jobs as far as quality and uniform selection.

those turks and their horses will need there eyes painted as well as the sloppy painting of the lines between bedrolls and horse as well as next to the canteen

By the way now there is a single WWI Turkish Lancer in a Trophy Box and a mounted German Officer wearing a cap in a box, each with a starting bid of $250.

Way too much for that lot. I was surprised by final bidding. Saw the other 2 pieces too.

Additional Turkish figures have been listed on EBAY. Two camel figures and two more lancers.

Yes, I saw, thank you. I am watching the Pack Camel of the Escort, as that is the one Turkish camel figure I don't have.:salute::

Good luck Louis. You are dealing with some interest on this one. I am on the sidelines.

Louis what about the turkish infantry that came up for bid on ebay?
You mean the marching guys in the light blue-gray uniforms? They are not infantry, they are multiples of the Trooper from the Escort of the Guard that accompanies the pack camel. And, again, the eyes don't look right. I think this gentlemen purchased multiple castings of various sets either from Len or the gentleman who purchased Trophy from Len, and had them painted.

As I posted, I picked up GA16 Supply Camel of the Escort (photos below). Now, in addition to GW51 the Russian Supply Wagon, I need the GWEQ81 the Motorized Ambulance and these two sets to complete my Trophy WWI collection:

GA17 Mountain Mule Gun Battery of the Escort
GA20 Ottoman Turkish Cavalry Standard Bearer

There were a couple of great Trophy WWI sets with very reasonable buy-it-nows that sold the past couple of days on eBay, a Searchlight truck for $350 and the "Everything Stops for Tea" howitzer set for $375. They sold before I could post a public service announcement on this thread. Did anyone grab them?

I BOUGHT A SEARCHLIGHT VEHICLE AT THE CHICAGO SHOW BUT PAID ALOT MORE THAN $350
