I have had these sets for a while and I'm trying to identify the unit they represent. By luck I have a "command set" and one officer figure is carrying a Queen's Colours with a roman numeral "LIX" on it.
The other sets match the figures, so they are probably from the same unit.
They have no special markings under the base
Maybe 59th of Foot?
59th (2nd Nottinhamshire) Regiment of Foot?
But looking up that regiment, it was combined in 1881 with another Regiment, which makes its "operational window" relatively small. Too early for Egypt and Sudan, but ok for Zulu Wars?
An image of the command group below. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Yeah the color is definitely intended to depict the 59th. I can't speak to the uniform details and time period. Artistic license, perhaps?

Prost!

They are from the KABUL TO KANDAHAR - SECOND AFGHAN WAR 1878 - 1880 series

Your figures are from the first issue of the 59th, there were 3 different issues between early 1980 and mid 1995

Here are a couple of pages from an old Trophy catalogue showing the set details, looks like you have 3 figures from set AS. 1

Hope this helps

Cheers

Martyn:)

THANKS!
The images did not show, but the catalogue page is more than I could hope for!
looks like I have a nice group and with this story, I think I'm going to keep them.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas!
