TSSD for sale (1 Viewer)

Sad to hear. I hope his health recovers. I enjoyed many of their sets over the years. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was communicating by email with Nick when he first got his website up. I hope someone with the same passion is able to take over the company.

Nick and I both started our businesses around the same time, he was on the left coast, I was on the East Coast.

As both of our businesses flourished, I ventured away from plastics and into metal, Nick began to produce his own ranges of figures, buildings and playsets.

Nick, myself and Deanna have been and will always be friends FIRST, competitors a distant second.

Some of the more enjoyable times for me at the Chicago show were the times the three of us spent together, I used to go to their room on Friday night and have a few adult beverages and shoot the breeze.

I was saddened over his health issues, it's sad to see them selling their business, I wish the two of them nothing but the best.........................

Just read on Hobby Bunkers forum that Matt from HB and others are interested in buying TSSD. Would hate to see it just fade away. Nick & Deanna have to be two of the nicest people I ever met in my 30 years in the hobby.

As far as buying the company; what exactly are you buying?

The name, the website, the customer list, the inventory and the molds for all of their figures and buildings.

You have to come up with a formula to determine worth and then go from there.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out, all I care about is that Nick and Deanna get treated fairly in the sale.

Wow Nick!

So sad, he is one of the best and wife too in the hobby.

Nick re-introduced me to the hobby 15 years ago and introduced me to the wonders of San Antonio.

Then 5 years later I moved to San Antonio.

Nick and Deanna, will be missed and it won't be the same without them in the hobby.

Very sad and sorry to hear of Nick & Deanna moving out of the hobby...Both of them have given so much to the hobby with TSSD and the Texas Toy Soldier Show.

They have also shown incredible guts and determination in the face of serious health issues that would have 'floored' most of us and still continued to run a successful business.

In their own field they have been and still are 'pioneers' and 'trailblazers' and...Two of the nicest people you could hope to meet and do business with... Over the years we have met up and occasionally partied at The Westcoaster...Chicago ...and San Antonio...and always had a great time doing it!

On behalf of K&C's cofounder and business partner and myself ...All the very best to Nick & Deanna in this new chapter of their lives...
Andy & Laura.

I had the pleasure of first meeting Nick and Deanna 7 years ago, when I attended my first Chicago show with George (Minutemen).

They were in the booth directly across from George and I on the Sunday show day. I also had the chance to see them in their room and marveled at the set up and all the offerings they had. It was amazing all the folks who came by just to visit and say "hello" to Nick and Deanna. Of course most ended up taking away some treasures ... {sm3}

I am the proud owner of some of there diorama pieces and hope to get more. It will be impossible to replace those to great folks, but it would be an good day to see the Toy Soldier business legend that they built continue with a new owner.

Best of wishes to you Nick and you Deanna.
