Have you ever noticed that except for the Trophy Durbar Elephant, the rest of the Trophy elephants, both civilian and military, have no tusks? Wonder why?

Hi, I believe it has something to do with the fact that generally only male Asian elephants have tusks (though there are some exceptions) and because male elephants occasionally enter into a state called “musth” during their reproductive cycle where they become ill tempered and uncontrollable, so female elephants were more commonly used for the sorts of roles that the tuskless Trophy elephants are performing. Best wishes

Forgot to mention I have a blue version of the Trophy Prince of Wales elephant. I was wondering if you have come across this version before? I’ve only ever seen the red version. One forum member kindly suggested the blue version was likely to have been a special commission.

I would think the blue one is a Special Commission, the set I had was a red one, I have never seen a blue version. I agree with Damian, very nice indeed

Stay safe

Martyn:)
