Just watched a new TV series called Australia Versus

First episode was on The Movies and V England.

Comedians from both countries making comments and no idea who awards the points. Mention was made of a international panel but who cares.

Results were

Comedian
Mr Bean V Crocodile Dundee - England won

Rising Star
Sam Worthington V Robert Pattinson - Oz won

Tough Guy
Russell Crowe v Jason Statham - Oz won

Winning Wedding Flick
4 Weddings and a Funeral v Muriels Wedding - England won

Best James Bond (even I knew the result on this one !)
George Lazenby V Daniel Craig - England won

(but at least Lazenby got to marry Diana Rigg !!! - giving away my age here)

Funniest Flick
The Castle V Monty Python Life of Brian - Draw

Movie Baddy
Lord Valdemort V The Joker - Oz wins

Top Frocks
Priscilla Queen of the Desert V The Queen - England win

Most Psychotic Psycho
Eric Bana in Chopper or Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast - England Won

Coolest Cartoon
Happy Feet v Chicken Run - Draw

Sexiest Starlet
Kierra Knightly v Sophie Monk - Oz win

( apart from the obvious negative points I would have to go with England on this one)

Draw counted as 1 point each and England won 7 - 6.

Regards
Brett

Pity they did not have War Movie ie. Battle of Britain V Gallipoli !!!

I'm with you on getting to marry Diana Rigg - I distinctly remember as a 4 year old watching the Avengers on TV, seeing her turn her head and toss her hair back over her shoulder and thinking "the heck with toy cars, I have got to get one of those!" I am not kidding about that. That really happened.

Louis,
Yes she had something about her. Pity she did not do more movies. The only one I remember was The Assassination Bureau with Oliver Reed.
I just looked her up on Wikipedia. You will see a reference to a stage play and perhaps understand as a teenager why I was quite keen to see it !!!!

The nude scene in Abelard & Eloise? Yeah, if I had been old enough, I would have gone every night for the entire run.;)

No, I meant King Lear !!!!

Actually the play in question was in my home town and the local paper did have a photo to go with the story. I think that was my first newspaper clipping !!!

Yo Trooper, cannot see how Mr Bean beat Crocodile Dundee, to me Mr Bean was the worst thing Rowan Atkinson did, couldn't watch it thought it was really stupid. Big fan of Rowan Atkinson for his comedy series of Black Adder, and the Thin Blue Line they were superb. Thought Crocodile Dundee was just class as well.
Bernard.

Im with you like Rowan in what you said but hate Mr bean

There were some classic quotes from comedians from UK and Oz to support their side.
One of the Aussie guys was having a hard time when he was trying to put forward the case that George Lazenby was the best Bond and got out when he was on top.
Kierra Knightly took some flak for her lack of "assets".
