I think we are all in agreement that there seems to be a lot of contention regarding unit identifiers being factory applied on AFVs- not correct unit, bumper/turret number is wrong, this unit was in France, not the Eastern Front, etc. I am not really too terribly concerned about this issue though I can certainly understand why it would be a major turn off for some collectors given price points these days.
My other little fun hobby is that I collect 4" GI Joe figures- something I played with as a kid and now enjoy playing with my children. In 1983, Hasbro released the skystriker- a really SWWEEET model of an F-14 Tomcat. Thsi year, they relrelased it for the first time. One of the things that had collectors thrilled about the rerelease was that they included stickers which allowed fans to personalize their skystrikers- different wing insignia, different pilot names, etc.
So, I ask to the forum, If manufacturers began making tanks a tad more generic- putting the Star, iron cross, etc on them but leaving bumper numbers, hull numbers, etc blank and including some unit/division insignia's would that be a deciding factor in buying a particular set?
Sound off chuckleheads!! {sm4}
