Does anyone know where I can get a 1/30 U.S. flag (on a flagpole) to compliment my K&C D-Day American HQ diorama?

Buy the IWJ-019 Iwo Jima Flag Raising Set and use the flag out of it.
You can then add a piece of welding MIG wire to the IWG-019 set and stick a suitable sized paper flag gleaned from the internet onto the bit of wire.
Hey Presto.....

OK, find an outlet for Microscale decals. They make US 48-star flags (remember, in WW2 Alaska and Hawaii were still "territories") and 50-star flags in several scales. The sheet has several sizes and variations (waving versus straight). For K&C you probably want the "O" scale sheet (1/48th scale) - one of the sizes SHOULD meet your needs.

One source is Walthers' Model Railroad supply (www.walthers.com), here is the listing from their site (shown as "in stock")

460-48560 American Flags -- 1912-1959 48 Star O 6.50

There was a guy next to me atthe Chicago show and his name has been bugging me since you put this post up!!!

I have tried to remember but i think in posting this somebody may remember.

He makes flags of all kinds out of paper and then they are hardened they look really good.

He sold loads at the show. He specilaises in the war gaming size but he had K&C size as well as we tried one on the flag bearer of the Crimean Charge.

i want to say Flag man!!!

George may know him as he does the wargaming scene!!! George??? any ideas for Kurt as the TM Terrain guys know him.....

They are only a couple of Bucks as well

Tony, that wasn't GMB Designs you were thinking of by any chance?!

Your post jogged my memory from my wargaming days many aeons ago. They used to produce brilliant 28mm size regimental colours for British and French Napoleonics - seriously nice stuff!

Cheers,

Molloy.

I think Tony is correct about the "Flag Man". I seem to remember seeing photos of him on the OTSN show website.
