Some new items were delivered to my door this afternoon :D for my fledgling start on a U.S. treaty port on the Yangtze River in China 1926-1928. It has a way to go yet but its a start and it gives me something to look forward to :) . . . . . . Mike

An excellent start Mike. Any ideas for a painted backdrop? If you have the Sand Pebbles DVD it may provide some ideas for one.

Below is one of the K&C setups. Simple sky and clouds with 3D model architecture doing the rest. I like the varied levels of the buildings to add feeling of crowded conditions.

The jetty will be a good space for the outdoor markets and vendors from the SOHK series. You will want the SOHK rickshaw and a passenger.

I actually saw this K&C diorama at the 2008 Chicago show. That's when I started thinking about collecting the China range. The introduction of US Navy and USMC pre WWII figures clinched it for me. Simple sky and clouds would be easy to do and is what I am leaning towards. I wish I had the depth that was available for the K&C display. I am only going to be working with the maximum of 17" of depth. That will limit my use of varied levels. The rickshaw and a passenger is on my TF wish list.

There is a never ending list of suggestions for sets from the SOHK range, but the Rickshaw is a must have! ;)

Looking forward to how you proceed with this. :)
