Hey all, I think someone on this board may have turned me on to this site but I thought it would be nice to inform you plastics folks who may not be aware.

This is the ultimate plastics reference and sales site for vintage figures. It has helped me out a lot in identfying figures I have.

This is a realy great site to I.D. unknown plastic figures. I used it to I.D. many old plastics that were left to me by my father and I believe it was me who posted the site on here for you to I.D your aurburn figures. I also had a few of those aurburn figures left to me by my father. That site has just about every thing done in plastic and sorts it out by country and year....great site!!! Also great to find old plastic figures for sale at good prices also.

An interesting site Gideon. But I'm not sure about that 'BUM from Spain' company in the 1/32 section, it sounds a bit suss to me :)

Bum Stands for Barcelona Universal Models I do believe, and it's for real.

Fishead - Yeah, I think it was you who referred me to that site. What a lbor of love that thing is. It has to be the most valuable plastics site on the web.

This guy went through all that trouble to pst all those images and lists and still he charges very reasonable prices.

I really hope he's doing well with it. In fact, I think I'll link my site to his as I get a lot of requests to help id figures (not sure why - my site doesn't represent that side of my business).

Anybody in this little group here collecting vintage plastics?

I grab the vintage Beetle Bailey figures from the early Camp Swampy

playset anytime I can find them.

As far as my eclectic collection goes, I really like the old Marx 60mm vinyl figures and I have a lot of Ahona (Athena) figures from Greece - from Hoplites to more modern troops. Great stuff! Here's a pic of a "small" selection of my Athenas...

I really need to take better shots of my stuff.

Pretty nice stuff.....you seem to find a lot of exotic stuff.

I'm strictly limited to Beetle Bailey and of course the Nabisco Spoonmen

from the 1950's very difficult to find, usually bring 100+ each when available!

Hmmmm I supose you could call them soldiers!

I do find some very esoteric things, yes - and that's pretty much what I like most.

Here is the ultimate military force.

Beetle Bailey......as you can see the German war machine (in the backround) was no match!

John,

Those are wonderfully clever figures! I did not even know they existed. Your collection is certainly full of interesting surprises.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

P.S. BTW, will you be attending the Chicago show? If so, will you also be attending the Figarti luncheon? It would be fun to say "hello" to you.

Pat:

Much as I would love to attend the show, I'm afraid it will have to be

another year. Wife already has the rest of this year planned out. We have a

month in Jersey spread between a couple of trips so I'm out of luck!

Hopefully there will be pleanty of fun adventures in the future! Please give

my reguards to Rick and the gang and I know you will have a wonderful

luncheon!

Those Beetle Baily figures are the greatest. How much do they usully go for? The closest thing I have to them is an old Frito Bandito pencil top.:D

The Beetle Bailey figures are from the Camp Swampy Playset cira 1950's

You opened the box which formed the camp walls, there were several

barracks buildings, a few vehicles, army men and the large Beetle Bailey,

Zero, Killer, General Amos Halftrak and Sergant Snorkle.

Figures are fairly difficult to find I have a couple of sets...been looking last

20 years. I had Camp Swampy it went to another collector for $660 maybe

12 years ago. I would say $100 a figure would be fair if you could find them.

Now the Spoonguys are something else, originally a premium in boxes of

Nabisco Spoonsize Shredded Wheat they sit on the neck of your spoon and

ride around as you eat your cereal.

The antenna are fragile and often are missing. There were three figures

Crunchy, Munchy, and Spoonsized. They were offered in quite a few colors,

and in Mint Condition go for $100+......one is currently on Ebay sitting at

$130. Oh those childhood memories!

Njja:)

Ah you beat me to that question. I loved Beetle Baily and Sad Sack!:)

OK tomorrow I will post a really cool Sad Sack figure, and Beetle Bailey's

Barracks......after all the guys have to sleep somewhere!

Here is a really cool Sad Sack we found. It stands about 15" tall and is from

1950's
