Hello,

Here are some photos of my diorama depicting the 1st Foot Guards square at Waterloo.
Later, I intend to add a backdrop to better finish it.
Unfortunately, there are some things historically incorrect in regard of the british figurines.
Also, I would like at least two kinds of french cavalry attacking one on each side, but to this day, in my opinion,
there are no valid Waterloo french cuirassiers.

2. The casualty one is not FL, you need to remove it lol :)

Fantastic display, looks great but what is historically incorrect with the Foot Guards?

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks; here are some historical inaccuracies in regard of 1st Foot Guards :

- Shako plume of Grenadiers should have been white color and not red and white.
( I can't repaint myself in white because I have to think about a future possible resale one day or another ).

- Shakos should be usually covered with black oilskin

- At Waterloo, trousers have been worn tucked ino the gaiters

- All soldiers of the square are Grenadiers. In reality, the most common formation adopted by the anglo-allied battalion
at Waterloo was the quater distance columns and so only the two front kneeling ranks of the square (or rather rectangle)
were lined with Grenadiers.
The 3rd and 4th standing front ranks were lined with 1st center company and the sides with center companies 2 to 6.

Great display!!!

Thanks !.
Yes, some figures as casualties are not FL but I need them to complete the diorama the best possible.
What a pity that FL did not released more poses !.

Thanks Serge. Some of that I knew , if I had thought. I did not know about the square formation. Interesting. Again great diorama.
