This was an extension of the A4 diorama project. The inspiration for the room is owed to Mini Art for the textured ceiling. The alleyway outside the window was inspired by the Cafe scene from The Duellists. The lighting is Plug and Go lighting from the model railway stockists. I was instantly hooked by the result you get for 5 minutes work. The room in this shot has only an undercoat and the accessories are not painted at all.

The fireplace is an old Verlinden product and the fire is Plug and Go inserted through a small hole behind the burning logs. Yellow light for the fire, Warm white light overhead and cool white in the alleyway outside the windows - it casts blue as it reflects the colour from the opposite wall. Standard products from hobby shop cover walls and floor and the figures are all King and Country.

Those lights would look great over a dam!

Napoleon or Wellington are not out of place in this architectural style. Pardon the bases - I did the best I could with floor colour and grainy photography. All figures are King and Country.

Why gentlemen; surely not afraid of little old me...care for an apple?

It's nice to see an interior scene and even better to see scenes in the same location, but from two different eras! It's also good to see the buxom lass make an appearance in your scenes as well!

Well done Bob and the pic's have turned out just fine.

Very good mate i like the fire.

Thanks Wayne, I think I have had that Verlinden fireplace for about 15 years; I come across it every now and then when moving boxes around. It was a simple matter to drill a small hole through the resin back of the firebox and conceal it with the log set. The lighting is adaptable for almost every purpose and it is small enough to not intrude on the scene. Each lead with its light is around $12.00 retail and the control box and hub around $80.00. You can add hubs in series and each runs four lights; so it becomes cheaper the more lights you run. The lights come in a large variety of colours and also in flashing mode. Cheers, Bob
