"Up the Cliffs Men!" (Dio) (1 Viewer)

Superb configuration of figures in that first photo, ranks up there as one of my all time favourites from you! Those K&C U.S. troopers looks like they were meant for that diorama you created. Well done. The sight perspective of the photo really feels like an Associated Press photo from a combat photographer who was actually there. Imagine if it could be done in black and white and a little grainy. Always enjoy your creations, keep on posting.

Thanks very much for the kind words. Glad you like that photo. I'm just an amateur photographer so I really appreciate it. Very encouraging for me, thanks.:)

I took a few more shots and included more of the beach and ocean.

Thanks Vick, I made the water effect by putting a Build-a-Rama beach mat under the JG Beach Dio with only the water exposed... then bunched it up for the photo to where it covered right up to the beginning of the beach. I don't know if what I just wrote makes much sense, but that's the best explanation I could come up with.

Vick, after reading my previous post... I believe it's not very clear. I was trying to say that I used a Build-a-Rama beach mat which has the water on one end, and I put the whole BAR mat underneath my JG sand/beach dio base only leaving the BAR water part of the mat exposed. Then I kinda "bunched" the BAR mat up towards the JG base a little to make it look like the water up against the sand. I think it turned out o.k., but the flash from the camera made the water look a little too bright blue. It doesn't appear that bright actually on the mat when looking at it in person. I just experimented with this, so I might try again soon to get some better shots with the water. Anyway, hope that helps.:)

Thank you very much for the info Duke!:) It looks fantastic by the way! And I'm looking forward to your next diorama.

Best Regards,
Vick

That's an incredible D-day dio Duke. I hope to someday to be able to create scenes like that. I actually plan on attempting to seriously do so "soon". In the interim I will gaze at your pics and those of others. Thanks again for sharing your work, it is outstanding!

Joe

Thank you very much. As far as me adding the other JG Omaha beach pieces... I'm not sure, I sure would like to at some point. There are 6 all total I guess, and I have 3 of them now. They sure are nice pieces.

Once I find out where I dropped my weapon I will join the fight again.......
Regards,
Canucks:)
