Upcoming releases for may/june (1 Viewer)

I would think the figures will be fixed on the jeep based on the line from the IV to the wounded. If it were moveable I would think it would break. Just my 2 cents. I would hope they would be loose. It would really make for an interesting Dio if you could move them around.

I agree that the ambulance jeep is spectacular, and will be a classic. I will set it next to the Arnhem Ambulance Jeep, to compare the two and see just how far K&C has come in the last 10 years.

I have to agree with Louis. The Souvenir Hunters is simply fantastic looking, a vignette in itself. That's the one must have for me. Others I will want to get right away are probably the Stuart, the Jeep and the Horse Paratrooper.

I THINK ALL OF THIS D-DAY RELEASE IS BEUTIFUL :M5 Stuart Tank,THE AMBULANCE AND The Souvenir Hunters ARE THE 3 TO HAVE FOR ME.....

OH MY POOR CREDIT CARD IN THIS MOMENT I CRY.... SOB:cool: :)

THE FIRST 1000 BUYER OF THE PANTHERS CAN HAVE A CANDY BAG IN THE BOX... DONT DELAY

I finally looked carefully at the figures - more "OH WOW!" comments.

The Ben Vandervoort figure is an interesting contrast to Conte's version that is obviously John Wayne. K&C really has caught the real figure judging from the couple photos that I have seen. He might look good scowling at his boisterous airborne boys and their wine bottles. The paratrooper on the horse is a little like a photo that I have seen of a 101st trooper sitting on a horse with an M3 "Grease Gun". I really like the "Reach for the shy" set, it about captures my attitude toward the Nazis. All of them are really worth getting - I just have to see what I can afford. Andy strikes again!

Well Crud. When I heard the Scot's Greys were the choice for Napoleonic British Cavalry I wasn't suprised but a little disappointed as there are other units that saw far more action and are seldom represented.
But having seen the previews, well, I 'll be saving my nickles and dimes for these! I'll mix them in with the Frontline and Nienas I already have.
At least they won't be out for a little while yet! Hope they are available and I can afford to get them before my annual June 18 Waterloo insanity!

Its still going to be a great piece, and I'm sure some of our handy Forum

members will be able to adapt it if they like.

Did anybody notice Andy C put the hedge buster on the Stuart?

Have you noticed something odd about DD70 Lt. Col. Vandervourt?

I think the crutches should be on the side of the "bad foot" correct?

I guess this got buried over the excitement of the new releases.

You're right noli-poli,

He has the crutch on the wrong side. If he suffered from a hop injury then he would have it right.

Maybe the good colonel was using the crutch on the wrong side and didn't know it and someone took the picture then and decades later Andy decided to used it as his model.

Who knows,

Carlos

Fortunatly I have never had to use a crutch, but it would seem that you

would use the support on the injured side. Anyone with any personal

experience care to give us their views?

I just had a physical this AM and showed my doctor this morning the photo of DD70. He concur that the main purpose for the crutch is to make one mobile while at the same time lessen the pressure on the injured leg. As it is he may end up as an amputee

Maybe he has a left arm injury which precludes him from taking the strain. He can still move in a 'tripod' type fashion from good leg to good right arm taking strain on crutch to dragging/lifting bandaged left leg. It can be done, though it's a cumbersome manoeuvre.

Maybe the ambulance or the cavalry will pull up to give him a hand!

John Wayne would have used that crutch to beat down half the German army.

sshhhh......

Quiet now. This piece will become a collector item and may cost a fortune just like the errors on minted coins. Let's stop this thread before Andy finds out and pull the item off the shelves. Lets buy our pieces and then re-start the noise.

I was probably the last to see them, but I'll say it anyway, the new sets look great! I love jeeps, what can i say.

There is Vandervourt himself, I would say the figure is pretty accurate. Awesome sets!

You may be right. Here's the official website of Lt. Col. Vandervoort. He is shown in other photos with 2 crutches.
Maybe it fell and was about to pick it up or was tired and shifted it to the right armpit...we don't know, but pictures can be misleading sometimes. So the best way is to portray it in the most likely manner a crutch is used:

The family was thankful for making a toy depicting his father (in 2 crutches)
