Hi Guys, especially “Currahee Chris”,

Great news Chris, we’re bringing out no less than six brand-new GI’s in dynamic action poses to be available individually and...these first pieces are all glider-borne infantry of the 82nd and 101st divisions. One of the six is actually an Army Air Corps “dismounted” glider pilot fighting alongside his buddies.

Hope you like them...photos will be with our upcoming dealer “Dispatches” and they will be on sale mid-late June.

Best wishes and...happy collecting!

Andy C.

These sound really good, can't wait to get a look!.

Andy can i ask a couple of questions.?.You said these are the first individual figures, can i assume there will be more WW2 individual figures then?.Also i have seen pics of what looks like a GI with movie camera, his he a future single release?.Thanks

The camera is a Speed Graphic camera used by still photographers in the 1940s. Life Magazine's Margaret Bourke-whte used one during WWII when she was with the 8th AF in England and with other combat units later in North Africa and italy.

I am building a K&C diorama in High hopes that Andy will release the photographer figure. The combat photographer makes a great subject.

Here is the K&C figure you mentioned. You can see the Speed Graphic camera. When I worked at Syracuse University, we had one of these cameras in our Margaret Bourke-White collection.

The K&C diorama I am creating will show U.S. troops in North Africa at the time Bourke-White was there photographing after Operation Torch. I am using the K&C DD-Day figures of the 3rd Infantry Division that particpated in the Torch landings and eventually fought their way through the Tunisian campaign. Uniforms for Torch same as D-Day with Parsons style jackets.
I will include some of the K&C camel troops which were there when Bourk-White was in Algeria.

Panda,

That's the German Train Station diorama that was on display at the West Coaster and at the Symposium in March. It was sold to a collector at the West Coaster, and a second, larger version was ordered by a collector from Massachusets. There are photos of the full diorama on the forum.

Thanks Andy- I will no doubt put them front and center in formation.

One of my all time favorites from the DD line is the Medic running for his life- DD04b. Definately captures the moment.

I look forward to this new "niche" in the collection. As you can see from some of the comments here- there are guys who like processions or parades. I personally like guys in action- running, jumping, ducking, etc, etc-

Look forward to them as always.

Yes there is just something about the action figures that i feel are more evocative of WW2.I'm sure these glider troops will be a great reinforcement to our GI's.
