The JJD P-51 is decent, but it’s not his greatest aircraft model either… Certain aspects of the tooling seem more in line with his earlier aircraft models than his more recent ones, and the overall look of the JJD P-51 has always seemed “off” to me when compared to the real thing. The wing dihedral, for one, is way too steep, the rivets are oversized, and it lacks some of the finer paint details and stenciling as well… See my photos below of a real restored P-51 (also painted as “Grim Reaper”) to see what I mean.
That said, the excellent W. Britains USAAF bomber crew figures make excellent pilots to accompany the JJD P-51
