I received the first of the War of 1812 series today - 2 sets of USCH01 and a set of USCH02. I like them far better than what I anticipated. Including pics of the grouping - enjoy.

Well if I were a better photographer it might help - LOL! But you are absolutely right Mark - these figures look much much better in hand. After seeing these I believe that the whole series when arranged together will be absolutely stunning. Now I am anxious to see what the planned British units will look like.

Yes, aren't they great looking figures? I was not going to get any dupes of these, but you have tempted me to get an extra set of the USCH01 now, and I guess I'd consider two copies of the 3rd and 4th sets when they arrive as well. And, as has been pointed out now more than once...we haven't even seen the British yet. This will be a fantastic looking series!

Okay, so I stopped by Treefrog Treasures today and met Shannon and bought a second set of USCH01 and I'm very happy now.

If I lived close enough to Treefrog Treasures that I could just "drop in" when I seriously needed a "fix" I would be contributing more to the economy than I could afford - LOL.

Yes, I am cursed by living less than 2 hours from 2 great toy soldier shops...it's really hard but somebody's got to do it.

MD, I don't know about you, but the more I compare these figures with the FIW figures the more I really like them. Personally I think they are better sculpted and better proportioned. From a diorama/modeling consideration they will also be easier to use since the portion of the Chippawa battlefield the "Grays" fought on was a grassy plain/meadow (won't have to worry about duplicating trees). The more I really think about it the more I am really glad I decided to invest in this new 1812 range.

Mike, I agree with all of these sentiments. It is nice to be able start a new series from the outset and not have to scramble and track down sold out and retired items as well.
