As a follow up to my posting of TSSD Marines I thought I'd paint some of the relatively new ones made by Austin Miniatures. These figures are quite good, nice detail although I did do a few headswaps, some of the sculpts heads were a poor fit.(Heads and arms seem to be added on during manufacture)
As compared to TSSD's range they appear to be sporting the later 1943 HBT utilities, with field packs, ponchos, and a nice touch - carrying the 2nd patt canteens.

Nice paint jobs! You did a good job on the USMC "duck hunter" camo pattern.

Excellent painting, again.
Do three have the shelter half ?
I have not seen them in person yet.

Thanks for your comment, yes three figures are moulded with the Poncho/shelter halfs, the bag contains x12 figures, x2 off each of six poses. The one I haven't painted is a guy standing at the ready with a BAR.

Thanks Gary, I have one figure left to paint which I think I'll do wearing the whole two piece camouflage utilities.

I'm starting to think about what I'll order from the States later in the year and I'm wondering how the Austin figures look with the TSSD ones? Are they generally compatable or very compatable?

Yes, I have done a few conversions using TSSD and Conte parts with the Austin Marines and they look fine together.

Really nice work! Your paint job is quite realistic. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
