First, I wanted to say how thrilled I am with the new dispatches (my wallet - probably less so:).

In particular, I love the USN launch...it's great to have an affordable navy vessel to go alongside the Sampans.

This brings me to my question - will there every be any armed Chinese (nationalists, Warlords etc.) in this or another line? I finally saw The Sand Pebbles a few weeks ago (which I highly recommend), and while the enemy is frequently off screen, the times they do make an appearance could make for some exciting action scenes.

While the USN fits in well with SOHK, I've always hoped there would be some people to shoot back at the Navy (and now Marines). Right now it's a bit one sided unless I want to stage a civilian massacre:)

(I've wondered whether there were political considerations in terms ok making Chinese nationalist forces in Communist China).

Not a complaint...I'll continue to support the line, just would love to know if there are plans to extend it in that direction.

(Along the same lines...will there be enemy combatants for the "Sons of Empire" line? From the description it doesn't sound like it).

Thanks for perhaps the best dispatch yet,

Mark

Just to interject, years ago I read the original novel of "The Sand Pebbles". The opposition was not only from the "gearwheels" (Nationalist Chinese) but warlords and communist forces. The book also had a notable presence of the Royal Navy, so there are lots of figures that could be added. Plus don't forget the Chinese gangsters and the bar girls.

Yes is something i noticed when they were released..the range is a bit "lame"..without opposition, they are certainly wonderful figures and from my point of view (i usually don't plan to do dioramas) they stand well alone, but many collectors on this forum use them for little scenes and certainly i hope there will be chinese armed forces in the future..:)
