It is officially awfully cold here! Last night the USPS announced they would be closing today!

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" says the unofficial motto of the U.S. Postal Service.
Notably absent from that famous phrase is "extreme cold."
The U.S. Postal Service announced Tuesday that it will temporarily suspend delivery in Minnesota on Wednesday because of "projected deteriorating weather conditions."
The suspension of delivery service also includes western Wisconsin, Iowa and western Illinois.
The Postal Service says retail operations will be available, but may be limited, and mail won't be picked up from businesses or collection boxes.

We have been in the sub-zero temps around here since yesterday, with wind chills making it feel like -50 degrees outside.

Even though carriers may be closed today, Jeff & I are still in the office! Wearing layers and turning up the heat!
Yesterday we were also offering hot chocolate to all of our carriers as things were quite cold yesterday already.

Notice how we will be about 70 degrees warmer in just a few days??? Wild.....

Whatever happened to, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"?

You and everybody else out there have my sympathies.

Where I live in Wisconsin it is currently -26F with a wind chill of -49F. Dangerously cold temps that could cause frost bite on exposed skin in as little as 8-9 minutes. Artic Vortex has brought a killer chiller for sure.

I have never been to Minnesota. This sounds as good a time as any. Got my plane ticket and my sun screen.

Sunscreen helps with windburn!
Beware.....the snow is moving in once again today. Hood up, extra layers on!
