USPS ---- Them (1 Viewer)

What does USPS do to re-used flat rate boxes mailed from Canada. As far as I know - nothing. I just black out or cover the US markings with an address sticker and put on Canadian postage and send the package to wherever it must go including to the USA.

Regardless of the box your postage is full rate. From Canada quite high I might add and takes forever. Glad you recycle and import lots from the US to get the box. In The US the flate rate is a reduced amount.

Update. The guy I sent the wrapped priority box got it and had to pay $3.70 postage due. The difference of what I paid for 1st class & flat rate priority. But this is the part that stumps me. He said the box was completely wrapped, no tears, rips, nothing that would expose it as being a priority mail box. How can the USPS just assume it was one of their boxes? I refunded the buyer the postage due and thanked him for being understanding. I'm still scratching my head on this.

You could have avoided this imbroglio — and this thread — had you purchased a box initially.

I would comment on this if I knew what "imbrglio" meant. But then again you are so much smarter and wiser than me and would never lower yourself by violating a federal statute by improperly using a flat rate priority box. I did go to confession this week and confessed to the priest my mortal sin. I said two "Our Fathers" as penance so at least in God's eyes I'm forgiven. I also paid the postage due so USPS has forgiven me. Now if only I could get Brad's forgiveness.

Try using dictionary.com. Great site. When I ship something I’m usually using a Staples box. Try going to Staples.com; they sell them in bulk and they’re not expensive — even for you. Sorry, but I’m not in the forgiveness racket. Wrong religion. However, when I lived in Uruguay when I was a kid I did go to mass with my friends at Christian Brothers, even though I wasn’t required to do do; beat sitting in one of the Brother’s offices.

Vaya con Dios mi hijo.
