Thanks for the photos! Its a sharp looking vehicle. I have a couple of

questions.

Are the front tires rubber?

How is the figure enterering the vehicle at the rear attached?

Thanks!

That looks pretty sharp ,it must be Figarti Day downunder my
Monty,s Grant turned up today also [very good too ]
The Aussie Dollariedoo is the only currency the Kiwi lira has gained
against in the last week [ it appears cows are more recesion proof than
minerals :) ]

They are indeed rubber!, The driver and the figure on top are fixed in place , the door at the side is fixed open , but the climbing general and the stool are seperate pieces....

:D:D Sorry I smeared the good name of the Vietnamese Dong ,even it has gained hugely against the Australian dollar:D I'll just call it the Australian Dung:D:D Metal in the coins might be worth more than the face value of the coins:D:D

RH, can you tell us how you got the model at the real Aussie dollar price?

I received mine today. Very pleased overall. The detail is nice down to the dirt in the crevices. It is a little bigger than I imagined. The guy climbing into the vehicle is a pain to position - I'm not sure I ever got him just right. He is also on the opposite side of the driver and german insignia which I prefer to display. So he is mostly invisible. The price is on the outer boundaries of what I would normally pay for something like this, but the association with V-2 was too good to pass on.

I received my Feurleitpanzer auf Zugkraftwagen 8t a week ago. Here are my thoughts on it.

This vehicle is a variant of the Sd.Kfz.7 prime mover

German-sdkfz7.jpg

As noted the vehicle is big. I have posted a picture below with K&C's Sd.Kfz.250 for comparison. The detailing is absolutely fantastic. Take a look at the wheel and track detail in the pictures below. Even the underside is finished nicely. The dark grey color looks great but is also a mystery to me. The universal color for German vehicles and equipment at this point of the war was Dunkelgelb. Does anyone know why this vehicle would have been painted grey?

Now we get to part I'm not very impressed with, the open side door. Considering the level of interior finishing on this model (none) how does it make sense to have a door open. I realize the officer climbing in is supposed to cover the majority of the opening but still.

This leads me to the officer climbing into the vehicle. While I find the concept very creative I feel the tolerances required to successfully pull this off must be beyond this price point. I fiddled and fiddled and finally got the guy to sort of stay in the opening. I then noticed neither of his feet were touching anything (vehicle, stool). I then went to the website and looked to see how his hand was positioned.

I noticed where his right hand was positioned and I tried to copy it. In the process I managed to chip the paint on his hand and then finally break the tip of his thumb off. When I actually managed to hook his right hand in that location his feet didn't touch anything again. Finally in disgust I tried hooking his hand on the lower bar. Surprisingly his foot came to rest on the top of the track. Finally there was a plausible position. While this negates the stool and exposes more of the unfinished interior at least he stays there in a realistic position. I have included some pictures of this figure below.

Overall I have mixed feelings about this piece but I see a tremendous upside potential for Figarti vehicles that I am looking forward to future releases.

Nice illustration of the interior... I agree placing the figure can be fiddly but achievable:D:D..did you use the stool that came with it

Really great pictures that show off the vehicle to be a tremendous piece.
Thanks for posting them.

excellent review Frank.
i'm really looking forward to the Figarti Panzer IV auf J.

As noted above, I had the same difficulties as Frank with this figure. In my case, the figure is too short to grab the door handle while standing on the stool. His foot is hanging in the air. Seems like it would have been a lot simpler if they designed this with the door closed. Particularly since there is no interior detail on an otherwise highly detailed vehicle. A nice piece, but at these prices it makes you wonder a bit.

Your picture demonstrates the point regarding the feet not touching anything very well. This was the initial position I had placed him in as well before I noticed the feet and tried to "fix" him. :(

Although you can't see it in this picture his left hand isn't touching anything either so I suppose he's pulling himself up with with his right arm. Those Germans really are Ubermensch. ;):D

I guess I was lucky. The figure fit like a glove. In fact I can pick up the vehicle and move it around without removing the figure at all. Only problem I had was some minor paint loss on the figures palm, but you can't see it when he's in place.
