Valentine Tank Recovery in Polish River (1 Viewer)

I have just received some photos of the Valentine Tank recovered from the Warta River in Poland from a friend of mine. I remember that someone posted a piece on this recently - but couldn't find it - so thought I would show them here.

Looks like they drained the river to recover it. Last pic shows the vehicle plate - which confirms manufature date of 1943. This was one of a number donated to the Soviets during WW2. I believe the current Polish owner is going to restore it, as it appears to be in reasonable condition. jb

very nice pic's....Wonder if the tank has a floor hatch so they could hose all the goo out ? the bucket and spade brigade look like being busy for some time.....the museum pic is thoughtful....shows us what is under the mud.......cheers TomB
 
I don't envy them, this took three ARVs and a temporary road to get out!

Thanks for posting JB and i wonder if they held mud wrestling comp's in that pit (no gender specified) after the tank was pulled out....:rolleyes2:{sm4}
