Vallejo paints for plastic (1 Viewer)

Does anybody have experience painting with Vallejo paints on plastic figures?

I am glad that I am not the only one who paints 72scale and 54mm plastics. I painted Conte Warlord figures with Vallejo and model color acrylics and have no problem. I do prime them with Fusion plastic primer and Armory acrylic primer before painting and give a coat of flat varnish except for metallic colors to figures. They look just as good after several years. I have been slopping paint on both plastic and metal figures for years, and more recently on resin. I have found Vallejo paints to be very satisfactory. However, I have had good luck with other brands as well, including Humbrol, Model Master, and Polly S. Each line of paints seems to have some that are superior to the other lines. The secret is in the primer, and I am still searching for the best one. I am not familiar with Fusion Plastic Primer. Why is it so good?

Krylon spray paint makes a spray in various colors called Fusion plastic paint for plastic- outdoor furniture-etc. It dries a little glossy but harder then regular primer. I use it only on plastic figures then coat it again with Armory primer which gives it some better adhesion to figure and paint brushing goes on easier. It is sold in most hardware stores and home centers. About $4.00 a can.I prefer white but have used other colors. I agree that other paints work well like humbrol-testors-Tamiya and I use them all.
