The new 2009 William Britain catalogue has just appeared on the forum.

Unfortunately, the Victoria Cross section has been dropped for this issue.

I hope that WB will consider re-starting the Victoria Cross Series in Gloss Finish in the near future.

The Crimean War and Indian Mutiny VC sets are classics. (my personal view)

Some of these sets depict time honoured gallant acts such as "Saving the Colours" and "Leave No Man Behind".

Each of these figures tells a story of courage and self sacrifice in helping fallen comrades.

It gives an added dimension to the experience of collecting 54mm figures.

Best Regards, Raymond.

I have to agree with Raymond this series was just kicking of & had plenty more steam left in it :( Im still waiting for the extra 93rd highlanders to make up the thin red line as were mentioned in the november 2006 issue of the standard  & would also like to see scots fusillers firing line fleshed out a bit

From what I understand the only future VC additions will be via figures added to the Redcoats series. Hopefully they will have some of the 93rd Thin Red Line there.

Lets hope so my sutherland highlander is looking kinda lonley on the shelf by himself lol :D

It would be great if they did some 4 man sets of the 93rd like they are doing with the 45th in the FIW Redcoats line.

that's an idea!!! 4 different poses maybe a couple firing, & a couple reloading? They could make a few good sets like that!!!

This is the William Britain Collector Club figure of a 93rd Highlander standing tall in the Thin Red Line at Balaclava.

I think there was also a piper which Randy has previously posted.

This is the WBCC 93rd Piper:

I missed the infantryman figure and they sold out and are very hard to find. I have not seen any on the secondary market. The 2 could be re-issued as an 8 piece set--2 pipers and 6 infantry to fill that gap in the VC collection.

I am not too hopeful about any large 93rd sets from William Britain.:(

As far as I know, the only manufacturer still producing 4 to 6 figure sets of the 93rd Highlanders (for the Thin Red Line) is Tradition of London.;)

Trophy, Frontline and AQM have all folded.:(

Best, Raymond.:)

Actually you might try Monarch Regalia available from Tedtoys. They have a couple of different sets as pictured below. These are both 6 figure sets BTW.

Cheers,

CORRIGENDUM: Frontline Figures is in operation and has not folded.

You are absolutely right. My sincere apologies to all concerned.

What I should have written:

I have communicated with Mr. Gerard Prime of Frontline Figures in HK and he has informed me that his company is unlikely to make any more Crimean War sets in the near future.

Thanks very much for pointing out my mistake, 4th Hussar.

Dorset Soldiers also make some.

Jeff

Hello Jeff,

Thanks very much for adding Dorset Soldiers.

Mr. Giles Brown has some fine castings on offer.

I shall check the Crimean War range in the Dorset catalogue.

Best Regards, Raymond.

Thanks for posting the pics, Mister Dave! Those are really nicely done.

Monarch has a nice style; I like their samurai figures, too.

Prost!

You are welcome Brad, and yes I agree about the style of these. I used to own one of these sets and thought they were some of the nicest gloss figures I'd seen. Anybody looking to build a glossy Thin Red Line really ought to consider these.

Cheers,
MD
