these castings look very much like Prussian Fusiliers from the 7 Years War era, the Army of Frederick the Great ..... ???

If I'm not mistaken, the time period covers the short reign of Tsar Paul III, who was an ardent admirer of Frederick the Great and who implemented uniforms and drill from the previous generation. It wasn't a popular move.

The same thing happened previously with his predecessor, Peter III, who succeeded Elizabeth and took Russia out of the coalition against Prussia. He was eventually "removed" by Catherine.

I've been looking at these castings, too. They're very well done, and I wondered about using them as Prussians. It occurs to me now, though, that they are probably in today's larger scale, which means I wouldn't use them. They'd fit with the old MiniWelt figures, though.
