Viet Nam Set ? Louis, Help! (1 Viewer)

Did Andy make US infantry for his Vietnam series. Marines mostly if I remember?

All the figures are Marines, the Huey came either way, as I believe did the

vehicles, depending on the customers order.

Very interesting points, I would agree as these two are my favorite series.

Something about the figures, they all seem to have a personality, unlike some

of the other series where they have a more mass produced appearance.

I'm not knocking any of the other series, its just after you handle the Vietnam

figures, and study them you can appreciate all the effort that went into their

production.

I find the early Arnhem figures the same way, from the arm patches, and

insignia, to the ammo at their feet, they are a pleasure to look at and collect.

Its also fun to hunt down the items you need to complete a series!

Duster is going to be difficult, I think only Louis and Andy have it. Vietnam

set #7 is something you can find. It usually goes for $200-$300 and came

with a certificate. Set #2 The Vietnamese is another story, I have not seen

it on Ebay, and even Bill's sight does not have a picture of the set!

I believe it consisted of the Old man & woman selling fish and the boy on

the Water Buffalo. I have no idea what its value would be if it was available,

I would estimate perhaps $375?

I will go take a photos of what I think the set was and post it.

Also set #8 The Vietcong.

Set #5 M113.

Here is a picture of Louis' duster...........

No, the first two sets are Army, the Big Red 1 and the Air Cav. There are also two Marine sets, "A" and "B" for the tet offensive. Both the Huey and the M113 APC came in either Army or Marine markings

At the risk of really stirring things up around here I would suggest that in my opinion the Vietnam series was better than the Arnhem series. I think there was much more action in the figures and some really good poses. The guy with a punji stick in his boot and a bandaged foot. The guys disembarking from the Hueys and the Huey itself. Unfortunately Vietnam is not as popular as WWII so everyone remembers the Arnhem series but overlooks this little gem.

I love the Vietnam series. I have all the figure sets, the two M113 APC's, a Huey, a firebase diorama and a portion of the Tet Offensive Street Scene Diorama. I also love the Arnhem series, and am thrilled the Andy revisited Market Garden last year. I wish he would revisit 'Nam, especially as Figarti's Vietnam patrol boat sold very well.
