Is this what Nick Versteeg is talking about on the TSSD website? Initially I thought perhaps TSSD was going to do these...but maybe he was just referring to Marxman.

ahhh....Just checked TSSD's website again to verify...before it just said stay tuned for Vietnam...now it identifies the fact that these are being produced by a fellow manufacturer and TSSD will be 1 of 3 retailers to sell them. Must be Marxmans.

Just received a bit of new info. A VietCong figure, running w/rpg, was seen at the Indy show. The maker also had a few accesseries, pungie stick pit, etc. He hopes to make a playset includeing green berets. Now I,ve been a plastic collector for a long time and I,m not saying this will not happen because I really hope it does. But just one proto type figure in April tells me this is still a LONG WAY off.
Also on TSSD,s site he list in coming attractions the Austim marines, then "2015?" That also tells me we have a sizeable wait on these also.
A dealer friend of mine told me years ago he looked into producing a plastic set and it turns out it is more expensive to do plastic than metal. I,ve heard between $7000 & $10000 to do one figure.

My understanding is that the molds to make plastics are wicked expensive, but once that cost in incurred the actual production is very cheap. It takes a large production run to make it all break even.

Seems they are to be made in the USA
