Does anyone know if Vietnam will be visited by any toy soldier company anytime soon? I know K&C and Figarti have done some in the past but I was wondering if anything new was in the works.

I hear Cunnyngham Collectibles is thinking about producing some plastic Vietnam Marines!:)

I have been campaigning with Andy for more K&C Vietnam and modern wars figures, but to no avail. :( I will keep at him.;)

Well I hope someone pulls the trigger and starts producing Vietnam figures as well as modern. I would think there would have to be a market for it?

Another maker does Vietnam era figures, there were 3 sets produced here in Australia by Gun-Ho orginally as plastics and then in metal. The sets each has 8 figures and were of the NVA / VC, US and Australians.

I prepared an article in Toy Soldier and Modle Fiure magazine a couple of years back and featured images of those troops as well as the current Figarti figures and the K&C from about 10 years ago.

Here are the images of the Gun-Ho that I painted

I've tried to contact Gun-Ho for a while, but I can't get any reply, either from email or leaving a message on the phone, its a pity, as he did promise that he would be producing more Vietnamese, and they would be great to add into the paddy fields!

regards,

John

Vietnam has always been one of my favorit series!

Those are some good looking figures. When were they produced? i take it since you can't get in touch with them that they no longer exist?

The Gun-Ho were made about 5-7 years ago as I recall, but I've just ried thier link from my website, and a Google search, and the returning message says the account has been suspended :(

Does that mean that I now a most unique set of rare figures?

I've also got some images from K&C showing more of thier Vietnam Range, I can post them upi tonight when I get home, if my wif's not on the PC,

John

Hey John they look great love the "Diggers" cant wait to see your collection.

Hi Guys,
I remember seeing the Gun Ho items also and I am pretty sure I sent an email asking for info but got no reply. They did look good. I think I saw them in one of the UK mags but certainly never heard of them within Australia and never saw them at the Melbourne or Brisbane model shows which would have been the best place for them to get attention.

Awesome pictures! Can you take a close up of that Huey?

Certainly I am going up to the den shortly and I will take a few and post

them for you.:)

Here are the Huey shots followed by a few more of the 6 piece King & Country Firebase. All the figures from the Vietnam Series are on the base + CC01 and a few from Del Prado.

6 piece firebase, they also made a 2 piece which Louis has. It is sharp because it can be put together several different ways to give base different layouts.

Seems like the manufacturers made some unique diorama accessories a few years ago.Very nice setup John.
Mark

Thanks I believe quanity produced was in the 15-30 range and I believe original price was in the neighborhood of $795.....this is from memory now, so I might be off a little. I have it all written down......just don't recall exactly where!:D

Hey, that setup with the Huey and the troops looks great, I do like to see it when collectors can place figures in a realistic setup / diroama and so you get a whole lot more to see in one viewing.

These image came from K&C when I did my article on the Vietnam War and the associated toy soldiers makers for TSMF in 2007, and I'm sure that Andy won't mind you guys seeing them too.

I didn't know that KC produced that nice a series on Vietnam.

I think it is often overlooked as a series. It had a wonderful mix of vehicles

and aircraft, interesting figures and a wonderful diorama to complete the

set. The sets come up on occasion on ebay and I might suggest other

collectors take a look.:)
