"Views From the Bagh" (1 Viewer)

Randy,

Another display of your great talents!! I love the dio's and story you told along with them. The watercolor effect was very ingenious too! Great job!

I recently added Wm. Britain's Victoria Cross Indian Mutiny series to my collection. It depicts the 2nd Relief of Lucknow in November, 1857 at the Secundra Bagh, the estate and garden owned by the Nawab Wajid Ali Shah. It was here that the Sepoy mutineers took refuge and were besieged by British forces who received 24 Victoria Crosses on that historic day. I am creating a series of "watercolor" vignettes from the event using the figures and building produced by Britains.

Hello Randy,

Thanks again for featuring the Victoria Cross Indian Mutiny Series by William Britain.

The 93rd Highlanders (Argyll & Sutherland) were awarded 6 Victoria Cross medals for the 2nd Relief of Lucknow on the 16th November 1857. However, William Britain produced only 4 of the 6 winners in the Victoria Cross series.

Here is the link for reference:

http://www.theargylls.co.uk/victoriacross.php

The 6 winners the Victoria Cross are:

(1) Captain STEWART, William

(2) Colour Sergeant MUNRO, James

(3) Sergeant PATON, John

(4) Lance Corporal DUNLAY, John

(5) Private GRANT, Peter

(6) Private MacKAY, David

The names in bold are the ones made by William Britain.

Best, Raymond

:)

Hi Randy, and once again good work. I've been away from the internet for a bit enjoying life and I'm slowly getting back up to date. I really like these new photos made to look like water colours/pastels.

I don't want to be creating work for you, but it would be nice to see one of these images with a fair number of figures-say twenty.
