I also flew from N Zealand on way back to UK and was there for New Year 08 to 09. After a month on NZ South Island, hiking, mountain biking [Gold trail was excellent] and a bit of climbing. It was a bit of shock to the system, the crowds, as i had spent 4 days on a hike in NZ and saw 7 people in 2 groups in those 4 days.
I think K & C HK shop is the destination for us 'elite', as that is how i think of Toy Soldier collectors, just a little above non-collectors. I even got some people who worked in the organisation i worked for in the early 2010s to collect for me from the shop when they were there for meetings, only talking 3 to sets and i told them to open them and check they were happy. All were happy too, except one, but she softened her point of view when it was pointed out, by someone else, i was the person who assigned the projects to people and was the budget holder for the trip and cleared and signed off the expenses.
Have been buying from the K & C HK shop for a few years, usually every couple of months, i have learned to keep the amount as low as possible, but above the free postage threshold and i have only paid customs charges once in around 14 orders. My last one was for $251, $1 above the threshold, not on purpose, i wanted those sets, but it did make me chuckle.
Finally - Kirsty at K & C is a delight to deal with, a star.
Many thanks to all those guys who have taken the time to visit our Hong Kong store while transiting through or visiting our fair city.
Before the dreaded Covid upended all our lives we had many collectors coming to this part of the world every year and many made a point of coming to the Hong Kong Shop in Pacific Place or even visiting our Head Office to meet up with myself and/or Gordon to talk all things toy soldiers, K&C dioramas or just to view our Display ‘Museum’ and Showroom.
As life gets back to normal I once more extend the invitation to anyone coming through this ‘Pearl of The Orient’ to contact me and arrange a suitable time to visit
Also remember the K&C Shop in Pacific Place is open 7 days a week…365 days a year…
We never close except for Typhoons … and the occasional Japanese invasion!
All the best Guys and…Happy Collecting!
Andy.
P.S. Kristy also says a big Thankyou for the kind words.
