I have a customer asking if VN089 can be used with VN017; he wants to put VN089 on the rear deck of VN017, is that doable? I'm not at my building right now to take them out of the boxes and try it myself.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.....................if they do work together, a picture would be very helpful.

Hi George

VN017 is the 106mm Recoiless Rifle. The tripod base and 106mm Recoiless Rifle are two separate pieces and so by drilling a 4.5-5mm hole in deck of (VN089) M274 Mule you can mount the Recoless Rifle as per my pic.

Unfortunately under artificial light but hopefully you can see the detail enough of what needs doing to mount VN017 onto VN089 from photos.
Please also note that elevation wheel for VN089 was also removed from right hand side and refixed to left hand side

That's the same conversion that I have done for the 106mm RCL for Howard recently for an Aussie version.

Thanks Steve; basically he's just looking to put the gun tripod and all on the deck if that makes sense; is that doable?

The base looks too large to fit on the Mule, but Steve's conversion is similar to how this canon was actually mounted on the Mule, there are plenty of photos on the web to verify this.

Hi George

Yes you can balance one on it's tripod on the deck of the mule.
I think in one of Andy's recent photos, he's done exactly that.
