W Britain’s Retiring War Along the Nile pieces

If you look at the current W Britain’s web page for the War Along the Nile series they are retiring all of the them except for two pieces, numbers.

27002 - Kneeling Camel Corps Camel
27042 - British Camel Corps Bugler, Mounted, Charging No.1 due February 2012

Everything else has been retired, I hope i’m not interpreting this wrongly.

Hi Ansar,
I noticed the same thing, and was wondering if Britains was in dire economic straits. I thought that this was a successful series.

I guess they have to clear the way for new inventory. That is they way I look at it.

Petticoats retiring also.

Really disappointed that the Durbar is all retiring well more so the route liners. They were released all at once along with the camels and they sold out pretty quick so I didn't really get a chance to pick up that many.

Real worrying signs at the moment, the main revenue lines ie. Civil War, Zulu & Nile are basically all on hold at the moment. Even with the expected announcements of exciting new releases, the lag time is likely to be several months, based on recent history, before they are available. Most businesses need a steady flow of income, I am hoping in this case the hook up with the new Europe outlet is the reason Britain's can cover this apparent dry patch in sales. Would not be very happy to not have this TS maker, as they make up a large amount of my hobby source. I guess time will tell. Hopefully they can ramp up their lines soon to allay our fears. Cheers, Robin.

Fellow Britains collectors. I checked out Britains website and it seems that they are discontinuing a large number of lines aside from those mentioned in earlier posts. Consider the following examples:

Jane Austin collection 8 of 10 pieces are slated to be retired and the two remaining items are sold out.

Heritage collection, 4 items being retired and 2 sold out.

The knights of Agincourt are all sold out, no mention of restocking these figures.

Redcoats collection, 61 items, approximately 28 retirements, 23 sold out, no mention of restocking and 1 canon cancelled.

The VC series, Crimea and Indian Mutiny seem to be finished too.

On the plus side the Zulu war seems to be going strong.

There will be more WAN figs in future catalogs. The series has not ended. Chris
