Hello All,

W.Britains would like to invite toy soldier collectors, armchair historians & Civil War enthusiasts to join us at our first annual Model Figure Symposium in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania this August 8-10, 2014. Please see the attached images of the Symposium flyer for details. A exclusive event figure will be available to all attendees. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

All the Best,

Kenneth Osen

This is the original sculpt of the symposium's exclusive event figure. It is Iron Brigade Sergeant Albert E. Tarbox, Company K, 6th Wisconsin. KIA July 1st, 1863. Look for additional pictures of the paintmaster in the near future.

Some more pictures of the exclusive event figure original sculpt.

Hi Ken,

While I would love to get there its a bit too far from here. But will there be anything like this held over here in Europe in the coming 2 years? If there are I will need to make plans

Hi All,
I thought I should repost the Symposium flyer with the updates including the finished event figure.

All the Best,
Ken

Considering the present flagship ranges of Britains, I would guess Isandlwana or Waterloo. Any better? ^&grin

Albert Tarbox.

It that an ancestor to our own Charlie Tarbox here in Gettysburg (or at least until recently)?

Sorry I somehow missed this question. Yes it is a relative of Charlie's. He was shot and killed the first day. Charlie is one of our guest speakers at the event.

For any of you that are coming to our model soldier symposium, you might want to take a look at our one of a kind figure conversions that will be in the silent auction on the W. Britain Facebook page.
We are pretty busy trying to tie up all of our loose ends as we head out to the 150th anniversary event at Petersburg Virginia and the following weekend, the Gettysburg symposium.
We will try to post some pictures here too, perhaps tomorrow.
All the best,
Ken Osen

See you all there on Friday afternoon . . . . . . Will be leaving Sunday afternoon . . . . . Looking forward to it . . . . .

Great location, guest speakers, food, drinks, toy soldiers, dioramas, and great hosts. Nice to meet Mike Estell, and some of the other collectors.

My latest acquisitions

Thanks Ken & Ericka for a fantastic symposium.

As Paul has said it was A GREAT WEEKEND . . . . . I think Paul and I were the only Treefroggers in attendance. It was also my pleasure to meet you Paul . . . . I enjoyed your company and our conversations . . . . glad you got home safely. Ken and Ericka and the rest of the WB staff were gracious hosts . . . . . All the guest speakers were outstanding . . . the USMC exhibit and detachment was very interesting and well done/received. The battlefield tour this morning was top notch - All about the Iron Brigade on the first day of the battle . . . . .

I have made it as far as Columbus, Ohio . . . . . spending the night and tomorrow with family . . . . Will be home in Wisconin sometime Tuesday. Stay tuned . . . . on Wednesday I will be sharing photos of my acquisition . . . . .
:smile2: Mike

Sounds like it was a great time! I'm sorry I missed it. Are they doing this again next year?

It is seriously being considered according to discussions Ken Osen had with those in attendance . . . . .

Mike, thanks in advance for posting some pictures. Wish I was there, maybe next year. Chris
